Filming Locations —

Alameda, Alameda County: Visual Effects photography was done by Manex Studios on the former Alameda Naval Air Station.

Muir Woods National Monument, Marin County: The scene where Robin Williams talked to his son next to a redwood tree was filmed at Muir Woods.

Oakland, Alameda County: Robin Williams' character's funeral service was filmed at the 1st Baptist Church on Teleraph Avenue near West Grand Avenue. He was buried at Mountain View Cemetery. The ending was filmed on the north end of Lake Merritt in downtown Oakland.

Marin Municipal Water District, Marin County: Phoenix Lake.

Piedmont, Alameda County: Part of Lincoln Avenue was decorated so that all its trees appeared to have purple blossoms.

San José, Santa Clara County.

City and County of San Francisco: Robin Williams' character died in the Broadway Tunnel.

San Rafael, Marin County: St. Vincent's School.

Treasure Island, City and County of San Francisco: Many of the Hell scenes were filmed in the old aircraft hangars.

Vallejo, Solano County: The "Hell ship" was the former USS Oriskany (CVA 34), which was moored at Mare Island at the time.

Woodside, San Mateo County: Filoli House & Gardens.
