| THE GOLD RUSH |
Many of the scenes of the Yukon Gold Rush were filmed in the Sierra Nevadas. Over 500 people worked for eight weeks to construct the fake Alaskan / Canadian locations 239,577 feet of timber were covered with 22,750 feet of chicken wire and 22,000 feet of burlap, covered with ice and snow made from 200 tons of plaster, 285 tons of salt, 100 barrels of flower, and four cartloads of confetti.
