TERMINATOR 2: JUDGMENT DAY |
Santa Monica, Los Angeles County: Parts of the mall scenes (the arcade, back hallways, and crashing through the window) were filmed at Santa Monica Place at 4th Street & Colorado Avenue. |

The Cyberdyne Systems building was filmed at the Lam Research Building, 47131 Bayside Parkway, Fremont. |

The building, still brand-new and unused several years after it was built, was actually only two stories tall, but over the course of 4-6 weeks of construction, the film crew added a glass façade for a third story, not to mention the interior sets too. |

The movie's Location Scouts couldn't find any Los Angeles buildings that could be blown up, so the search was expanded to the San Francisco Bay Area. Joe O'Kane of the San José Film Commission helped find five possible buildings in San José and this one in Fremont which was actually chosen. Even though Fremont isn't even in Santa Clara County, O'Kane continued to help the film crew. Consequently, the credits cite San José as a filming location even though no photography was done there. |

The crew filmed here for three weeks, mostly at night, so they needed to buy out an entire nearby hotel to keep from disrupting anybody. Also, the fires and exploding cars in the parking got so hot that the tarmac melted and needed replacing! |

The pyrotechnic damage to the building also needed restoring, including all the expensive thick glass walls which were replaced. |
