Filming Locations —

San Rafael, Marin County: The visual effects and perhaps various live-action elements for all six movies (and / or their Special Editions) were done at the Industrial Light & Magic facilities in Marin County. The original version of A New Hope was mostly done in Van Nuys, Los Angeles.


SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA
Filming Locations —

Death Valley National Park, Inyo County.

West Hollywood, Los Angeles County: After originally shooting it in England, reshoots of the Mos Eisley Cantina scene were done at Samuel Goldwyn Studios, now known as The Lot at 1041 N. Formosa Avenue at Santa Monica Boulevard.
