Agua Dulce, Los Angeles County: Vasquez Rocks Natural Area Park was used for episodes like Who Watches the Watchers (1989-1990) and Darmok (1991-1992).

Hollywood, Los Angeles, Los Angeles County: The majority of the series was filmed on stage at Paramount Studios on Melrose Avenue between Gower Street and Van Ness Avenue.

Malibu, Los Angeles County: The Survivors (1989-1990).

Van Nuys, Los Angeles, Los Angeles County: The Starfleet Headquarters gardens were filmed at the Japanese Garden at Woodley Avenue Park, between Victory Boulevard and Burbank Boulevard. This appeared in episodes such as The First Duty (1991-1992).
