The reason why this movie was shot in San Francisco was because of a film technician strike in Manhattan. It was the first film to pair Woody Allen and Diane Keaton.

Bolinas, Marin County: Snarley's Tavern was used in the scene where Woody Allen played pool with a blind date.

Fort Baker, Marin County: Waldo Grade.

City and County of San Francisco: Vallejo & Kearny Streets. 22nd Avenue & Balboa was where the sheet of glass was broken.

Sausalito, Marin County.

Stinson Beach, Marin County: Woody Allen spent the weekend with Diane Keaton and her husband at the spit on Stinson Beach.
