Filming Locations —

Albany, Alameda County: Golden Gate Fields Racetrack.

Berkeley, Alameda County.

Emeryville, Alameda County.

Lafayette, Contra Costa County.

Oakland, Alameda County: Often as a substitute for San Francisco, many Oakland locations have been used, especially in the Downtown area (Paramount Theater, Frank Ogawa Plaza, Haley Law Offices, etc.).

Point Reyes Station, Marin County.

Presidio of San Francisco (GGNRA / Presidio Trust), San Francisco: Cassidy's U.C. Berkeley dorm room and other campus locales often faked in the Presidio at various buildings, as well as the back side of Letterman Hospital. Other locations include the horse stables, Doyle Drive's underpass, the Bowling Center, hangars at Crissy Field, the Presidio Golf Course, the old Coast Guard Pier, Fort Point, etc.

Rio Vista, Solano County: In April 2000, they filmed for two nights at the Rio Vista Airport for one of the Las Vegas episodes.

City and County of San Francisco: The final location of the Special Investigative Unit was on a barge at Pier 32 near the Bay Bridge. Many other locations included North Beach, Tenderloin, Financial District, South of Market, Hayes Valley, Mission District, Bernal Heights, Fort Mason, Aquatic Park.

San Leandro, Alameda County.

Sausalito, Marin County.

Treasure Island, City and County of San Francisco: Nash and Joe's apartments were sets in an old aircraft hangar on Treasure Island.

Woodside, San Mateo County: Filoli Mansion.
