The behind-the-scenes picture below shows the scaffolding that was built to create a mountain platform on which Nate Dogg and his girls performed in front of Mt. Rushmore.
According to the South Dakota Film Office, the production had 30 people working two weeks here to prepare for the shoot, and on the three actual shoot days they had 200 people on set, 35 of whom were local hires. All together, roughly $1 million was spent in South Dakota, thus boosting the local economy since that money will get spent over and over. The area was first scouted in September 2002 and the filming occurred shortly after October. The film was released on 28 March 2003. |
