Filming Locations —

•	Crescent City, Del Norte County: The beginning and ending of the film were shot in December 1981 near Crescent City, on land owned by the Miller-Relim Redwood Company.

The upcoming theatrical and video rerelease of the movie will feature various changes. Just as George Lucas changed Star Wars so that Han Solo shot Greedo in self-defense, Steven Spielberg is changing E.T. to remove all the guns from the movie. Though his intentions are good, you can't protect anyone by hiding the ways of the world, only through honesty and education.
