North on Mason Street from California.
That's the Fairmont Hotel on the right.

Mark Hopkins Hotel, 999 California at Mason.

Behind the cable car is the Renaissance
Stanford Court Hotel at California & Powell.
bullitt
And completing this early hotel tour is the
St. Francis Hotel on Powell Street at Union Square.

This was at 2700 Vallejo Street at Divisadero in Pacific Heights.

The "Daniels Hotel" — actually filmed at the Kennedy Hotel — was at the end of Howard Street at the Embarcadero.

Another view of the Daniels Hotel.
Notice the freeway behind it, no longer there.
bullitt
The hospital scenes were filmed at San Francisco
General Hospital, 1001 Potrero Avenue.
bullitt
Bullitt's home was on the south side of Clay Street, just east of Taylor. This view is looking east on Clay.
bullitt
Looking south on Powell Street, south of Union Square.

These are pictures from Grace Cathedral Episcopal Church, 1100 California Street. Look closely at the top of the second picture. Yes, that really is a gas station on top of Nob Hill! This was a Phillips Union 76 station, located where the Gramercy Towers Condominiums are now located at 1177 California at Jones. The gas station was destroyed around 1972 when construction began on what was originally supposed to be a Hyatt Hotel, until they were able to build the Embarcadero Hyatt instead.

Enrico's Sidewalk Café, 504 Broadway at Kearny Street.

The famous car-chase scene begans here at the base of Bernal Heights. Here, Bullitt is making a u-turn on Army Street
(now Cesar Chavez), just east of Bryant.
bullitt
The scene soon shifts to here,
eastbound Filbert Street at Mason.
bullitt
This corner of Columbus and Vallejo will later be the
site of the 30-car pile-up in Bedazzled.

The cars are now going downhill on northbound Taylor Street. Notice the wooden stairs in the upper-left of the pic? That's
Macondray Lane, the location for the fictional 28 Barbary Lane
from the Tales of the City trilogy.
bullitt
That's San Francisco City College's
Chinatown Campus, 940 Filbert Street.

Now, the chase cuts to the Marina District. The first picture has the Fort Mason Center
in the background and the other has the Marina Safeway.
bullitt
Bullitt's cool car on Marina Boulevard.
bullitt
Instead of getting to the Golden Gate Bridge, as one might expect (filming, apparently, wasn't allowed on the Bridge since they would have needed to close it temporarily), we now cut to McLaren Park's Mansell Street, just west of University.
bullitt
We now cut to what I believe is Guadalupe Canyon Parkway
which cuts from Brisbane to Daly City.

Let's hope he had some cheap car insurance.

Originally the Thunderbird Hotel, this is now the
Clarion Hotel at 401 East Millbrae Avenue

This is at the Candlestick Park exit ramp from Highway 101.

BEHIND-THE-SCENES PICS

bullitt
A nice shot of the entrance to San Francisco General Hospital.
