Wheeler Hall and the Campanile (Sather Tower)
at the University of California at Berkeley.

Prinze and Hannigan are just north of Sather Gate,
behind which is Sproul Hall at U.C. Berkeley.

Although it goes by Carmen Hall in the movie,
this is actually Bowles Hall, the all-male residence hall.

This was filmed at the U.S. Customs House
on Battery Street in San Francisco.

123 Langton is located off Folsom Street near 7th Street.

This is possibly the science library at U.C. Riverside.

They just exited U.C. Berkeley's Doe Library which is now on the far right, and Bancroft Library is located behind to the left.

This is a view of U.C. Berkeley from the Berkeley Hills,
specifically from the Lawrence Hall of Science.

Although the scene is set on Telegraph Avenue in Berkeley,
this is actually Haight Street in San Francisco.

Mulford Hall at U.C. Berkeley is not really the Student Health Center, as shown here. In real life, Mulford is for environmental sciences and the Tang Center is for student health.

When I saw this movie on the big screen in Berkeley, CA, the students in the audience were howling with laughter at these scenes.
U.C. Berkeley students, particularly lower-classmen like Forlani and Prinze's characters, rarely manage to leave Berkeley
or San Francisco, let alone somehow manage to get to the trails at the Marin Headlands.

Again, this is the bridge over Strawberry Creek,
just north of Sather Gate.

The steps of Giannini Hall were made
to look like an outdoor café.

This shot of San Francisco includes Coit Tower,
Sts. Peter & Paul Church, and the Transamerica Pyramid.

More laughter. Most U.C. Berkeley students don't seem to venture far beyond
the BART stops in San Francisco. This scene is at Lombard & Hyde Streets.

Déjà vu. Hadn't Claire Forlani been in this exact location already in The Rock?
This is the Palace of Fine Arts, yet another popular hangout for U.C. Berkeley students (yeah, right).

The Brain Wash Cafe & Laundromat (which has their own film festival, by the way) is at 1122 Folsom Street in the SoMa.

This scene evokes laughter from not only Cal students, but anybody who has any geographical knowledge of the Bay Area. Claire Forlani is supposed to be taking a shuttle from Berkeley to the airport, yet we see her heading south on the Golden Gate Bridge. In real life, this would just be a quick trip down Highway 880 to Oakland International, with no need to swing through Marin County. What made this scene worse was her cry out to stop the taxi in the middle of the bridge! This, of course, is an impossibility. The filmmakers actually wanted to shoot her hopping out of the taxi in the middle of the roadway (don't even ask where she was planning to run to from there), but this was not allowed by the Golden Gate Highway and Transportation District, hence the abrupt edit of this scene.
