•	City and County of San Francisco: Highway 280 at 20th Street. Chinatown Gates at Bush Street and Grant Avenue. Commercial Street at Grant Avenue. St. Louis Alley off Jackson Street.

I don't know if either of these opening shots were done in Northern California or elsewhere.

Looking down on the Golden Gate Bridge from Conzelman Road in the Marin Headlands.

Most of the shots of Chinatown were sets built in Los Angeles.

North on Highway 280 from the 20th Street overcrossing.

Same stretch of Highway 280, but from freeway-level.

Chinatown Gates on Grant Avenue at Bush Street.

Victor Wong, character actor in many S.F. Chinatown movies,
is the brother of Zepplin Wong from Kung Phooey.

Driving the tour bus through the Chinatown Gates on Grant Avenue.

Now the tour bus is turning east on Commercial Street, downhill from Grant Avenue.

Corner of Commercial Street & Grant Avenue.

Jack Burton's truck is heading eastbound on Jackson Street....

... when it makes a sharp turn into St. Louis Alley.

We cut from the real alley to a set in Los Angeles where the rest of the movie was filmed.
